An unorganized bathroom can be a real pain when you're trying to get out the door in the morning. It doesn't matter whether you have a spacious master bath or a modest water closet; clutter always seems to find its way in! Thankfully, we have nine tips to make bathroom organization effortless.
1. Purge first
Chances are you don't use everything occupying your bathroom counter or cabinets. So why spend time organizing things you don't need? Start by going through your bathroom items and removing everything you don't use. Decluttering starts with deciding what to keep.
2. Tackle your cabinets
Instead of trying to stand up all your product bottles and sprinkling sponges and brushes on top, methodically store your cabinet items. Caddies or containers can help you organize things by purpose, family members, or whatever you decide!
3. Next, move on to drawers
Drawers can become an easy catch-all when cleaning off the counters, but don't just sweep everything in! Use drawer dividers to keep things like your toothbrushes or hairbands neat and tidy. They will also allow you to effortlessly find what you need on busy mornings.
4. Speaking of counters…
Aim for clean, clutter-free counters. Not only will keeping items off the counters help your space look and feel organized, but it will keep belongings cleaner too. Store items in drawers and cabinets. If you do have a few products that live on the countertop, try to coral or group them with organizers like a small dish or wire basket.
5. Find a home for infrequently used items
We all have products that we only use now and again or backup items that are kept just in case. To avoid losing or forgetting about these things, find them a home. An ideal spot is a cabinet door organizer that affixes to the cabinet or hangs over the door. You can place extra packaged toothbrushes, new makeup sponges, or packs of floss here to keep them out of sight but not too far out of mind.
6. Opt for towel hooks
Towel bars aren't the most efficient use of space. It can be difficult to hang multiple towels on them and remember whose is whose. Towel hooks or racks look neater and more convenient for families. Plus, towels usually dry faster and better on a towel hook than on a bar!
7. Add a hamper
Tired of picking up dirty towels or clothes from the counter and floor? A hamper may be able to solve your clutter woes. All the better if it can nicely tuck into a corner or out-of-the-way spot.
8. Label if necessary
You don't need to go wild with your label maker, but naming the contents of storage bins can help you keep track of items more easily. Additionally, it will cut down on confusion when it comes to putting items back. Labeling seasonal or infrequently used storage bins, like sunscreen, will make finding what you're looking for effortless.
9. Get creative
While hooks and caddies are great, make sure you're not overlooking storage spaces. Ledges, over-the-toilet units, and floating shelves can be ideal spots to store items. Usually, they can also do double duty as decorative pieces, helping your newly organized bathroom look polished and pretty!
